International Youth Social Advertising Competition “Together against corruption!” Prosecutor General awarded winners and prize winners of the national stage

The international youth competition of social anti-corruption advertising is held in the framework of the Interstate Council for Combating Corruption. And it takes place for the second time. 

The Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation is the organizer; the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Republic of Belarus is one of the co-organizers. 

In 2019 the competition was notable for the greater geographical and representational diversity, in particular, by participants of BRICS member states. 

On the official competition website more than 22 000 works from Armenia, Belarus, India, Kazakhstan, China, Kyrgyzstan, Russia and South Africa have been posted within 4 months. 

About 140 videos and more than 700 posters made in various genres, styles and techniques came from Belarus. 

Among the participants of the competition are young people aged 14 to 35 years old, including pupils, students, employees of media and educational institutions. 

The winners and finalists in the nominations “Best Poster” and “Best Video” were chosen by the national competitive commission. In addition to representatives of the Prosecutor General’s office, Ministries of the Internal Affairs, Education, Information, Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade, following professionals in the field of graphic design, painting and cinematography were also included: 

• member of the Board of the Belarusian Union of Cinematographers, director of the Green Studio film company, film director Sergei Zygmantovich;
• Chairman of the Belarusian Union of Artists Grigory Sitnitsa; 
• Dean of the Faculty of Design and Decorative and Applied Arts of the Belarusian State Academy of Arts Vsevolod Sventuhovsky. 

  The works were evaluated according to the following criteria: compliance with the subject area; relevance and profundity of content disclosure; creativity, novelty of idea and quality of execution; accuracy and clarity of language and style of presentation; compliance with the requirements of the Rules of conduct. 

"The best poster" 

Marina Krot, a student of Svetlogorsk State Industrial College, won this nomination. 

Second place was taken by a pupil of grade 9 of Borovliany secondary school (Minsk region) Artem Sekizhinsky. 

Third place went to Elizaveta Pavlovskaya, a student of Vitebsk State Technological University. 

"The best video" 

The first place was awarded to Kristina Dubatovka, author and host of the criminal program SIRENA, host of the information radio programs ZEFIR FM. 

The second place went to the creative team of the police faculty of the Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Belarus, consisting of Vyacheslav Bachinsky, Nikita Demyanov, Yegor Lastovsky, Denis Oniskovets, Oleg Gushtyn. 

The third place was taken by the collective of authors — pupils of the 8th grade of Smorgon secondary school No. 5, consisting of Nikita Yaskevich, Margarita Dudko, Eugene Yuzhik, Roman Augustinovich. 

By the way, 14-year-old Nikita Yaskevich – one of the youngest participants – was presented with a passport and the book “My Way Belarus” from Prosecutor General Alexander Konyuk. The talented young man was also awarded a special prize from a member of the national jury Sergey Zygmantovich. 

In his speech, Alexander Konyuk noted the importance of involving young people in the creation of social anti-corruption advertising, their input in this matter. 

“We are convinced that in this way the practice of interaction of young people with public authorities in the fight against corruption is being formed. In their works the contestants showed modern mechanisms to counter it at all levels and in all spheres of life. I hope this project will be further developed and will attract increased attention to the problem of corruption not only of youth, but also of the adults. This will already allow us to develop an intolerant attitude towards its acts and will enable us to work “ahead of schedule,” said the Prosecutor General. 

The works that took first place in the national selection went to the second stage – the final where the jury of the international competition will select the winners and prize winners in each nomination. 

The award ceremony will be held on December 9, 2019 in Moscow and will be devoted to the International Day against Corruption. 

Finalists of the competition also received prizes from the Ministry of Education and the main department for combating organized crime and corruption of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. 

After the award ceremony, the contestants went on a tour “Belarusfilm – a film is being made here”, organized by the national film studio.
